This trip combines a visit to Biltmore Estate with a driving tour of the Smokies as well as fabulous shows in Pigeon Forge.
We will arrive in Asheville for a visit to Biltmore Estate. Our included lunch will be at Deerpark. This unusual glass enclosed restaurant is unique and interesting. A visit to the mansion highlights the country’s largest privately owned residence. A part of the Biltmore family lived here until the 1960’s. You will marvel at all the ornate objects as well as the vast rooms. Visiting the Biltmore Winery will give us opportunity to sample their award winning wines made from grapes grown on the estate. An interesting gift shop is also a part of the winery.
Leaving Asheville we will drive to Pigeon Forge for a two night stay. While in Pigeon Forge we will do a driving tour of the mountains with a local guide who will include craftsmans road. Shows that we will see are Magic Beyond Belief and a breakfast show with The Blackwoods.
Magic Beyond Belief stars International Star of Magic, Terry Evanswood, his four magic assistants, and several exotic animals headlined by a 400 pound Bengal tiger. The show features stunning illusions, exotic animals, mind-boggling special effects, and comedy. It is a high-energy, fast-paced production that is fun. Evanswood says in all of his shows that he is not trying to trick anyone, but bring the child out in everyone.
Our final morning will begin with inspirational songs, some laughs, and a big breakfast at the Blackwood Breakfast Variety Show. The Blackwood Singers take the stage with the ladies of the singing family and their lovely voices, dazzling costumes, and hilarious antics leaving you wanting more. Top it all off with an original Patriotic Tribute that ends the show in a flood of red-white-and-blue.
We can’t leave the outlet capital of the south without visiting at least one outlet center, so we will make a short stop at Tanger Mall.
